About Me
I'm Ibrahim (Ibrex), a Backend Software Engineer with 4+ years' experience designing, building, and deploying production systems using Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and Python.
I'm currently part of an early-stage UK travel-tech startup in Edinburgh, in ideation on ancillary services that help passengers stay seated with family on flights. I'm also an MSc Data Science student at Heriot-Watt University.
I've shipped 9+ production applications across education, HR, and public-sector platforms. My work includes multi-tenant SaaS architecture, RabbitMQ queue systems, PostgreSQL optimisation, analytics modules, and CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions and Docker.
I've led small engineering teams, mentored 8+ junior developers and interns, and contributed to platforms serving 2,000+ applications and 1,200+ end users. I hold a First Class Honours equivalent BSc in Computer Science and I'm on track for Distinction in my MSc.

Part of a 4-person founding team developing an ancillary platform for airline seat negotiation. In ideation stage: defining user journeys, technical approach, and early API and PostgreSQL architecture for seat preference workflows.
Backend Engineer & DevOps Engineer
Promoted from NYSC intern to full-time within 12 months. Built NestJS microservices for the Nigeria Startup Portal and Project Noor. Delivered labelling and ticketing for 2,000+ startup applications. Moved email delivery to RabbitMQ (500+ daily notifications), paginated 25+ endpoints with 60% faster list APIs, built analytics module, and automated CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Docker.
Backend Engineer (Contract)
